Three fishermen who had gone out on a motorboat off the Incheon coast were rescued by the coast guard Monday.
The Incheon Coast Guard rescued three men in their 20s and 30s, including a man identified only as A, at around 6:12 a.m. Monday near Chojido in Jawol-myeon, Ongjin-gun, Incheon. The men had lost contact Sunday.
At the time of their rescue, the three were clinging to their capsized 0.28-ton motorboat while wearing life jackets. All were found to be in stable condition.
The men had set out Sunday from Wangsan on Yeongjongdo in Jung-gu, Incheon, to go fishing by motorboat.
A's wife called 112, the police emergency line, after losing contact with her husband Sunday.
Coast guard authorities activated the regional rescue coordination center and deployed patrol vessels, aircraft and vessels from related agencies to conduct an intensive search of waters near Chojido and Jawoldo, leading to the men's discovery.
The coast guard plans to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
