Choi Hong-man tells Yang Sang-guk: 'I have a physical education teaching certificate'

The second installment of a Jeju Island special featuring Choi Hong-man and Yang Sang-guk aired Sunday on Comedy TV's "Annyeonghaseyo, Geoininde yo," a travel variety show. During the episode, Choi boasted to Yang that he holds a physical education teaching certificate.

According to BNT, the pair's Jeju journey began at an all-you-can-eat meat restaurant. Before they had even taken their seats, Yang remarked on Choi's imposing physique, joking that Choi should be charged a combined adult-and-child admission price.

Choi recalled that eating was the happiest part of his childhood athletic training, sharing an anecdote about a coach who told him he never had to worry about food. The two then worked their way through beef brisket and marinated galbi, filling up properly on their first meal of the Jeju trip.

Their next stop was a hangover-soup restaurant well known among Jeju residents as a go-to spot for a morning recovery meal.

Before eating, the pair played a wasabi-based game of chance. Choi lost and received a book called "The God of Decisions" as his penalty prize. Yang used the book's premise — that it answers any question posed to it — to ask Choi, "Do you kind of want to hit me?"

The book's response came out as "You need to show your true self," and Choi shot back without missing a beat: "Come on, come on."

Yang then caught Choi off guard by saying, "Jeju Island is wonderful, but there's one person who lives here that I can't stand." Seeing Choi's hurt expression, Yang quickly added, "Not you, though," in a moment that showed the two men's genuine brotherly rapport.

The banter aside, both were generous in their praise of the food. Yang said it was the best hangover soup he had ever had on Jeju Island.

After a full day of Yang's teasing, things escalated to the point where Choi appeared to take a mock swing at him. Yang then asked Choi to explain the local shellfish bomal again on his own, needling him with, "You really do have a lot going on upstairs, don't you?"

Choi pushed back: "Say what you will, but I'm someone who has a physical education teaching certificate." Yang fired back, "Is that how you treat your students?" Choi flared up again: "Are you my student? I told you to be humble when you come to Jeju."

Yang kept the laughs going with a breezy retort: "So is this what getting a proper lesson feels like?"
