E-mart announced Thursday it will bring T-Cafe, the flagship food-and-beverage concept of its Traders warehouse chain, to a regular E-mart store for the first time.
The company opened a T-Cafe at its Jungdong branch Thursday, spanning 373 square meters with 62 seats. The signature item is a 45-centimeter pizza priced at 16,800 won ($12) to 18,800 won. More than 1 million pizzas sold in the first half of this year alone.
A half-chicken rice noodle soup has also proven popular — it has ranked first in sales among all non-pizza menu items since its 2021 launch. The dish features half a domestic chicken served whole and is priced at 6,500 won. The Jungdong location also carries Traders' signature deli products, including chipotle sandwiches and sweet-and-spicy shrimp.
T-Cafe has built a following as a value-for-money dining option, posting double-digit sales growth every year. Last year, sales rose 18.5 percent from the previous year, with the number of customers reaching 28 million — up 10 percent. In the first half of this year, sales climbed 18.4 percent year-on-year, with 15 million customers recorded.
"We will continue to strengthen our differentiated food competitiveness by applying Traders' food-and-beverage expertise," an E-mart official said.
