Noroo Paint & Coatings announced Tuesday it has signed a sponsorship agreement with Elaine Motorsport and officially launched the "Water-Q Elaine Racing" team.
Under the partnership, Noroo Paint & Coatings will apply its Water-Q waterborne automotive refinish brand to vehicles competing in the Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 class — the top tier of the Super Race championship — and use the motorsport venue as a technology validation platform.
Racing cars are continuously exposed to conditions far harsher than ordinary road driving, including high-speed stress, intense vibration, extreme heat and debris impact. Noroo Paint & Coatings said it views that environment as an ideal proving ground for assessing the quality and durability of its waterborne automotive refinish coatings.
Because the product is applied and tested continuously under real racing conditions, the collaboration goes beyond a conventional sports sponsorship and serves as product validation. The company said it plans to use the experience and data gathered at race events to strengthen technical communication with customers.
Through the project, the company intends to draw on field experience and data accumulated throughout its racing participation to provide reliable technical information to the automotive refinish market.
"Water-Q Elaine Racing is not simply a sponsorship activity — it is a proof-of-concept marketing initiative designed to validate our technology in a real-world environment and demonstrate it to customers," a Noroo Paint & Coatings official said. "We will use the extreme conditions of motorsport to communicate the potential and competitiveness of our waterborne automotive refinish coatings more effectively."
