The Korea Power Exchange has forecast electricity demand for the second week of August (Aug. 10–14) at 92.9 to 96.7 gigawatts, a range that would exceed the summer peak of 95.321 GW set Friday, Aug. 7. Demand is expected to rise steadily this week as industrial facilities resume normal operations following the summer holiday season, and a prolonged heat wave and tropical nights could push consumption past the all-time record of 97.115 GW.
