Jungnang-gu announced Wednesday that the Seoul Metropolitan Government approved its urban public housing complex project near Sagajeong Station on Thursday, Aug. 6. The district said the approval marks its second such project plan to clear the city review process, and that the development is expected to expand housing supply and improve residential conditions in the area.
The project will be built on a 28,138.7-square-meter site in the Myeongmok 7-dong 524-1 area, with a total floor area of 212,054.59 square meters and a floor-area ratio of 499.26 percent. The complex will rise five floors below ground and 35 floors above, comprising 869 publicly sold units, 130 profit-sharing units, 221 public rental units and 80 donated-lease rental units, for a total of 1,300 households. Construction is set to begin in 2029, with completion targeted for 2033.
Meanwhile, the district completed the formation of residents' representative councils for all five urban public housing complex projects under way in the area in January. Starting with the project near Yongma Tunnel, which received plan approval in December last year, the district plans to accelerate progress toward selecting contractors and holding design competitions for all project sites before the end of the year.
The public housing complex near Yongma Tunnel will rise six floors below ground and 28 floors above, supplying a total of 551 units — 428 publicly sold, 56 profit-sharing and 67 public rental.
"The approval of the urban public housing complex project plan near Sagajeong Station is expected to significantly strengthen the foundation for housing supply in Jungnang-gu," District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to push forward various housing supply initiatives — including urban public housing complex projects and Moa Town redevelopment — without disruption, to create a stable residential environment."
