Golfzon Co. (CEO Park Kang-su) announced Wednesday that it will release a screen golf event match titled "Paris Gate Rival Match," featuring KLPGA tour professionals Park Hyun-kyung and Lee Ye-won, on its YouTube channel Friday.
The "Paris Gate Rival Match — Park Hyun-kyung vs. Lee Ye-won" event offers fans a rare look at two of the KLPGA's top players competing in screen golf, while also showcasing an unusual team format that pairs the professionals with amateur players.
The match was filmed at the Golfzon Tower Seoul Media Studio on July 17, with Park and Lee each teaming up with an amateur partner for an 18-hole modified stroke-play foursome at Christvalley Country Club. Six holes were played as a true foursome — teammates alternating shots on a single ball — while the remaining 12 holes (eight for the professionals and four for the amateurs) were contested as individual stroke play.
Announcer Kim Hwang-jung, who calls GTOUR broadcasts, served as MC for the event. The broadcast will also include shot-technique lesson segments featuring Park and Lee, both of whom have large fan followings.
