Yangju reviews progress on residents' requests submitted to mayor-elect

Yangju held a progress review meeting Tuesday, chaired by Mayor Jeong Deok-yeong and attended by department and division heads, to assess the status of residents' requests submitted through the city's "What We Ask of the Mayor-Elect" initiative.

The meeting focused on 60 lifestyle-related requests submitted through the initiative, examining how each project was advancing and discussing concrete solutions going forward.

Participants closely reviewed practical constraints — including project feasibility and budget availability — and held in-depth discussions on problems in the implementation process and on drawing up action plans and alternatives.

Particularly for long-standing community projects and complex complaints involving multiple departments, all divisions agreed to work together proactively to ensure smooth resolution.

Based on the discussions, the city plans to establish a systematic management framework for resident requests and concentrate its administrative resources on accelerating implementation. In addition, it intends to keep listening to diverse community voices and continue strengthening open, communicative governance.

"Each and every request is a precious foundation for Yangju's development and for improving the quality of life of our residents," Mayor Jeong said. "I ask that the departments in charge think once more from the residents' perspective, review matters thoroughly, and move quickly on projects — and that every department take responsibility and engage actively so we can deliver changes that residents can truly feel."
