SHINee's Key, YouTuber 'Ipjjalbeun Haetnim' questioned last month in 'Injection Aunt' probe

Police investigating allegations that a woman known as "Injection Aunt" performed illegal medical procedures on broadcaster Park Na-rae and other celebrities have summoned several of those celebrities for questioning.

According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on Thursday, broadcaster Key and YouTuber "Ipjjalbeun Haetnim" Kim Mi-gyeong were questioned last month as suspects in the case. Both are alleged to have received illegal procedures from a woman surnamed Lee, who goes by the nickname "Injection Aunt."

Lee is under investigation on charges of performing medical procedures without a valid domestic medical license. She is accused of administering intravenous drips and prescribing antidepressants to Park and others in officetels and vehicles.

Police launched the investigation into Lee's alleged illegal medical activities late last year and have since been looking into the possible involvement of celebrities including Park and Key.

In January, investigators conducted a search and seizure at Lee's home and other locations. In May, they summoned Park for questioning as a suspect.

Following Park's questioning, police pressed Key and Ipjjalbeun Haetnim on whether they knew Lee was not a licensed medical professional.

Under current law, not only can an unlicensed practitioner be punished for performing medical procedures, but a recipient who knowingly and actively requested such procedures can also be charged as an accomplice.
