Cheongdo-gun holds US export ceremony for Im Sun-hee traditional sikhye

Cheongdo-gun in North Gyeongsang Province held a shipping ceremony Thursday for the US export of Im Sun-hee traditional sikhye, a signature traditional beverage produced by Chinjeong Agricultural Corporation.

Im Sun-hee traditional sikhye is a representative processed food from Cheongdo, made with domestic ingredients and traditional production methods.

The county said the product has gained popularity among domestic consumers and in overseas markets through high-quality production and management standards.

The exported products will be sold through H-Mart, a major Korean-American retail chain operating more than 80 stores across the United States.

"We will continue to pursue new overseas market development and export support so that Cheongdo's premium agricultural food products can consistently win the support of consumers abroad," county chief Park Gwon-hyeon said.
