Jejuair surprises passengers with K-pop idol as cabin crew on Japan flight

Seok Matthew of K-pop idol group Zerobaseone stepped into the role of a cabin crew member aboard a Jejuair flight bound for Matsuyama, Japan — making in-flight announcements, serving meals and handing out signed CDs to surprised passengers.

Jejuair announced Friday that it had released a video of Seok Matthew's one-day cabin crew experience on its official YouTube channel Thursday afternoon.

The content was filmed on a live Incheon–Matsuyama service. Seok Matthew joined the flight alongside actual cabin crew members and took part in duties including in-flight announcements and meal service.

A surprise event for passengers was also arranged, with Seok Matthew personally delivering in-flight service and distributing Zerobaseone signed CDs. The airline noted that the content was produced during an actual operating flight, not a separate promotional shoot.

The video also features a moment where the active idol meets a Jejuair cabin crew member who previously worked as an idol. The two exchange stories about life as a flight attendant and as a K-pop performer, forming the narrative thread of the content.

Jejuair has extended its Zerobaseone collaboration to the exterior of its aircraft as well. The airline unveiled a Zerobaseone-wrapped plane featuring images of the group's members in June and plans to deploy it on major international routes to Japan, Greater China and Southeast Asia through late November.

The airline has also been consistently expanding its Japan routes. Jejuair launched a new Incheon–Kobe service on June 11, operating one round trip daily, adding another option for travelers heading to the Kansai region of Japan.

"This collaboration with Zerobaseone gave us an opportunity to communicate the values of safety and customer satisfaction — the most important aspects of air travel — in a more approachable way," a Jejuair official said. "We will continue to expand our content and services so that customers can enjoy new travel experiences, grounded in safe operations."
