DB Insurance assembles heat-relief kits for flood victims with top sales team

DB Insurance said Friday it assembled "DB Fromi Heat Relief Kits" for vulnerable residents at flood recovery sites, working with Peace Winds Korea at the DB Human Resources Development Institute.

The activity was carried out under the banner of "DBRT's ESG Practice" as part of the PA Senior Executive Course and DB-MBA 6th cohort programs, with 44 members of DBRT — DB Insurance's top-performing sales associates — taking part. It marks the third consecutive year DB Insurance and Peace Winds Korea have partnered on an ESG initiative.

In 2024, the company produced disaster-response kits to support residents' safety and initial response during emergencies. Last year, it made "Fromi flower pots" to encourage the recovery of residents displaced by wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province. This year, the kits are designed to protect residents still engaged in cleanup work or living in temporary shelters in flood-hit areas from heat-related illness and other secondary hazards.

Each DB Fromi Heat Relief Kit contains one eco insulated bag, two instant ice cool packs, one cooling neck band, two disposable cooling towels, one sunscreen, one foldable fan, one tumbler, one contact digital thermometer, one packet of electrolyte drink powder and one set of heat-wave safety guideline cards. The kits assembled Friday are to be delivered to vulnerable residents continuing recovery work in flood-affected areas and to displaced people staying in temporary evacuation facilities.

"We prepared this activity so that residents would not be exposed to the additional dangers of extreme heat and heat-related illness during the flood recovery process," a DB Insurance official said. "We will continue to provide the support that disaster sites and local communities need through ESG activities that bring together employees and our sales associates."

Meanwhile, Peace Winds Korea is a global disaster relief NGO that provides emergency assistance and supports the recovery of affected residents at domestic and international disaster sites, including wildfires, floods and earthquakes. The organization also runs "Peace Meongmeong," a no-kill shelter for stray dogs in wildfire- and flood-affected areas, alongside its animal protection work with local communities.
