From electric SUVs to pickups and PBVs: 12 electrified models to gather at EV Trend Korea

Five domestic and international automakers will display a total of 12 electrified vehicles at EV Trend Korea, running Aug. 25–27 at COEX in Seoul. The show will present the current state of electrified mobility across a broad range of segments — from electric SUVs and electric pickups to hybrid vehicles and purpose-built vehicles (PBVs).

EV Trend Korea 2026 announced Friday that Kia, KG Mobility, Volvo Car Korea, BMW and BYD will participate in this year's event, bringing 12 electrified models in total.

Kia will exhibit three models: the EV3, a dedicated compact electric SUV; the EV5, an electrified family SUV; and the PV5 Passenger, a PBV. The lineup spans a small electric SUV built on a dedicated EV platform, a compact-to-midsize electrified SUV and a PBV designed for flexible space use — covering everyday commuting, leisure and business needs.

KG Mobility will show the Actyon Hybrid, an urban SUV; the Torres EVX, an electric SUV; and the Musso EV, an electric pickup. The Actyon Hybrid uses a dual-tech hybrid system that allows up to 94 percent electric-mode driving in city conditions, while the Torres EVX is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery. The Musso EV combines the load-carrying versatility of a traditional pickup with the advantages of an electric drivetrain, offering a new option in the electrified pickup segment.

Volvo Car Korea will display the EX90, its flagship electric SUV, and the ES90, its flagship electric sedan. Both models feature the "Huginn Core" — an architecture comprising an electric backbone, a central computer, zone controllers and software — and are designed as software-defined vehicles (SDVs) that can continuously improve their functions, performance and safety technology through over-the-air updates.

BMW will exhibit the BMW i5, a premium all-electric sedan, and the new BMW iX3, a next-generation premium all-electric SAV and the first mass-production model from the "Neue Klasse" lineup. The show will use both vehicles to introduce BMW's future electrification vision. A test-drive program for the new BMW iX3 will also be available on-site.

BYD Korea will showcase two electrification technologies — pure battery electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) — through the Atto 3, a pure electric SUV, and the Sealion 6 DM-i, a midsize SUV equipped with BYD's proprietary PHEV system. Visitors can experience BYD's electrification technology firsthand through an on-site test-drive program.

Separate from the static displays, a test-drive program called "EV Ride 2026" will operate around the COEX area throughout the event. Six models will be available: the new BMW iX3, the BMW iX, the Musso EV, the Sealion 6 DM-i, the Seal and the Sealion 7. Participants must register in advance to secure a slot, though walk-in registrations will be accepted for any remaining openings.

"This year's vehicle lineup shows that electric vehicles are expanding well beyond everyday passenger cars into diverse mobility needs and use cases — PBVs, pickups, premium SUVs and more," a COEX official said. "We hope visitors will explore the distinct character and appeal of each brand's electrified models in one place, and experience electrified mobility more directly through the separate test-drive program."

EV Trend Korea 2026 is the country's leading dedicated electric vehicle exhibition, covering EVs, charging infrastructure, batteries and related technology. This year it will be held as part of "2026 Future Mobility Week," an integrated event that also includes the 2026 Autonomous Driving Mobility Industry Exhibition and the 2026 Unmanned Mobility Industry Expo × Civil-Military Cooperation Expo.
