Seoul's Yongsan-gu held a communication forum Thursday at a restaurant in Hangang-ro-dong, bringing together about 70 district-employed sanitation workers.
District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae joined the workers to exchange views on improving working conditions amid the heat wave, preventing workplace accidents and enhancing worker welfare. He also listened to a range of suggestions on improving sanitation administration on the ground and helping residents enjoy a cleaner living environment. The forum closed with attendees chanting, "Clean city Yongsan — let's go!"
The sanitation workers shared the difficulties they face on the job, the improvements needed in their working conditions, and various ideas for advancing sanitation administration. The district plans to carefully review the feedback and actively incorporate it into future policy and district operations.
"I am sincerely grateful to all the sanitation workers who quietly give their best every day to keep our residents' living environment clean and comfortable," Kim said. "We will actively reflect the voices from the field to create a safer and healthier working environment, and do our utmost to build a cleaner Yongsan that every resident can feel."
