LH opens 360-square-meter rest lounge for war veterans, families at Seoul hospital

Korea Land and Housing Corporation announced Friday that it has completed a new rest facility for national merit holders and their families inside the Central Veterans Hospital in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, marking the occasion with a completion ceremony.

The project was undertaken to offer a comfortable rest space for veterans who have spent long periods hospitalized, and their families, as a gesture of social respect for those who dedicated themselves to the nation.

LH has previously carried out housing improvement work for some 300 households of national merit holders through its "Home of Honor" program. This year, the corporation expanded the project's scope to include facility upgrades at veterans' medical institutions that serve up to 10,000 visitors a day, with the aim of further promoting a culture of honoring veterans.

LH signed an MOU with the Central Veterans Hospital in June and has since renovated an aging rest area within the facility. The newly completed lounge covers 360 square meters.

At the completion ceremony, Kim Jae-gyeong, head of LH's management division, said the space carries "deep respect and gratitude for the heroes who devoted themselves to the nation and the families who stood by their side." He added that LH would continue its social contribution efforts to spread a culture of honoring veterans.
