Ferrari unveils one-of-a-kind 'CZ26' built over two years for a single American customer

A one-of-a-kind Ferrari built for a single American customer has made its public debut. Dubbed the CZ26, the car is built on the high-performance hybrid platform of the SF90 Stradale but features an entirely new exterior and interior design. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 328 km/h.

Ferrari announced Friday that it had unveiled the one-off CZ26 in Monterey, California, through its Special Projects program.

The CZ26 originated from the vision of a single American customer. Ferrari's design studio, led by Flavio Manzoni, worked with the customer to translate a personal concept for a super-sport berlinetta into a finished vehicle.

Ferrari's Special Projects program creates bespoke cars for individual clients. The process begins with the customer's ideas, which are developed into a design before progressing through technical drawings and a full-scale styling model to the final car. It typically takes about two years, with the customer directly involved in design reviews and validation at each stage.

The CZ26 is based on the SF90 Stradale, Ferrari's first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. While retaining the SF90's chassis architecture and powertrain performance, Ferrari gave the CZ26 an entirely new exterior, interior and aerodynamic design.

The exterior is defined by a long horizontal profile and a "two-box" silhouette in which the front and rear masses are clearly separated. Four prominent wheel arches wrap around the central body, giving the car a low-slung stance. The rear is finished in a short, near-vertical "short tail" form.

A full-width grille spans the front fascia, housing ultra-slim lighting elements, brake-cooling air intakes and sensors to minimize exposed components. At the rear, cantilevered taillamps protrude from the body alongside a horizontal diffuser.

The design draws from Italian industrial design of the 1970s. Rather than concealing functional elements, the approach treats cooling intakes, diffusers and lighting as integral, visible parts of the body design.

The body color was developed exclusively for this car. A bespoke silver called "Argento Veloce" serves as the base, accented by red "Rosso Rampante" details throughout. The wheels are finished in gloss black, and the exhaust outlets expose bare titanium.

The interior also features exclusive materials. Black technical fabric is paired with seats produced through additive manufacturing — 3D printing — and embroidered with a CZ26-specific logo. Parts of the dashboard and door panels are finished in the same color as the exterior.

The aerodynamics have been reworked as well. Ferrari revised the central radiator layout and added a dedicated bypass duct to improve cooling efficiency and increase front-axle downforce. The underbody and vortex generators were also redesigned from scratch.

Air curtains on either side of the front bumper manage airflow around the front wheels, while a large rear spoiler and a dedicated diffuser handle the rear. A separate vent around the rear window extracts heat from the engine bay.

Performance befits a supercar, as expected from a car based on the SF90 Stradale. The 3,990cc V8 turbocharged engine produces a maximum 797 horsepower and 804 Nm of torque. The electric motor delivers up to 162 kW, and the battery capacity is 7.9 kWh, enabling an all-electric range of up to 25 km.

The car sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 328 km/h. Power is delivered through an eight-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission.

The CZ26 measures 4,762 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width and 1,189 mm in height, with a front-to-rear weight distribution of 45:55.

Meanwhile, Ferrari is also expanding its electrification efforts beyond one-off models. In May, the brand unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce, which produces a maximum 1,050 horsepower from four electric motors and offers a range of 530 km on a single charge.

In its second-quarter earnings announcement last month, Ferrari said orders already on hand were sufficient to fill its production schedule through 2027. The company delivered 3,366 vehicles in the second quarter.
