Siheung recruits participants for 3-day summer job camp for female college students

The city of Siheung (Mayor Lim Byeong-taek) is recruiting participants for a three-day intensive job camp aimed at strengthening the employment readiness of female college and graduate students preparing for the job market during summer break. The camp will run Wednesday through Friday next week.

The program is designed to help participants intensively cover the core skills needed for job hunting in a short period during the vacation.

The curriculum is structured as a step-by-step, practical job preparation course covering three themes: identifying personal strengths using competency cards and a career values assessment under the theme "My Killer Skill"; writing resumes and cover letters, crafting a winning personal narrative and conducting AI-assisted job analysis under the theme "Application Cheat Code"; and taking a job preference test, exploring youth employment support resources and setting career goals under the theme "Action Plan."

Participants will receive systematic instruction — covering self-understanding, application document writing, job analysis and goal-setting — to help them identify their strengths and career values, clarify their target roles, and build confidence in their job search.

Sessions will be held daily from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 through Aug. 27 at the Siheung Women's New Start Center training room. After completing the program, participants will receive follow-up employment support services — including career counseling, job listing referrals and job placement assistance — tailored to their target roles and job-search status.

Hong Seung-il, director of the city's economic affairs bureau, said he hoped the camp would give female students using their summer break to prepare for employment "a chance to discover their strengths and find the right career path." He added that the city would continue to run practical employment support programs to strengthen the career readiness of young women.

Any female college or graduate student preparing for employment is eligible to apply for the three-day camp, and the city is currently accepting registrations on a first-come, first-served basis for about 12 spots.
