Sessions for daycare centers, kindergartens held Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays in September; Wednesdays in October
The city of Paju, led by Mayor Son Bae-chan, will run its "2026 Second-Half Children's Safety Experience Class" program for daycare centers and kindergartens across the city.
The children's safety experience class is a hands-on education program designed to help young children learn how to prevent and respond to various disasters and safety accidents through direct experience.
Paju has operated the program continuously since 2017, offering experiential education tailored to children's level of understanding.
The second-half sessions will run for two months, from September through October. September classes will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while October sessions will take place every Wednesday.
Institutions wishing to participate should first contact the Safety Planning Team under Paju's Safety Management Division by phone to coordinate scheduling, then submit a formal application by email.
The curriculum is built around simulations that closely mirror real-life situations, allowing children to grasp the importance of safety in an accessible and engaging way. The city said it hopes the program will help children build the basic response skills needed to stay calm and protect themselves when an emergency arises.
"The children's safety experience class is a valuable education program where children can develop safety awareness by seeing, hearing and experiencing things firsthand," said Kim Su-tae, head of the Safety Management Division. "We hope daycare centers and kindergartens throughout the city will take a keen interest and participate actively."
