Lotte is launching LIFT (Lifetime Inspiration For Tomorrow), a youth vocational training academy, starting Tuesday.
LIFT is an education program Lotte operates covering retail, hotel and service industries. It is part of the K-New Deal Academy, a project run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to strengthen young people's job skills and support their employment.
Lotte selected about 200 trainees through a document review and online interviews. They will take part in 12 weeks of practice-oriented training in retail and hotel and service operations. The curriculum is designed to build practical skills and job competitiveness, and includes foundational job training, on-site experience, mentoring by current employees and hands-on assignments.
Lotte will share the expertise it has accumulated through years of operating its retail and hotel businesses. The program also covers job-specific career consulting, resume writing and mock interviews. AI proficiency has been incorporated into the regular curriculum, with sessions on generative AI applications and real-world case studies of AI use in the workplace.
"LIFT is a practice-centered program through which Lotte shares the experience and on-the-ground know-how it has built up running its retail, hotel and service businesses with young people," a Lotte official said. "We will continue to provide field-oriented education and support going forward."
