Samsung Art Store adds 43 masterworks from Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum

Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday it will bring 43 representative works from Austria's Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna to the Samsung Art Store.

The Vienna museum joins France's Louvre and Spain's Prado, whose collections are already available on the platform.

Highlights include Pieter Bruegel the Elder's "The Tower of Babel," Johannes Vermeer's "The Art of Painting" and Gustav Klimt's "Nuda Veritas."

Viewers can also discover masterworks by Rubens, Velázquez, Caravaggio, Titian, Rembrandt and Raphael on their televisions.

To faithfully convey the impact of the originals, Samsung Electronics combines high-resolution images provided by the museum with its anti-reflection display technology, delivering crisp visuals even in bright sunlight or well-lit rooms.

"We are thrilled to share the museum's world-renowned collection with audiences around the globe through the Samsung Art Store," said Jonathan Fine, director general of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. "We hope that removing the barriers of location will allow more people to experience these masterpieces, and that the emotion felt through the screen will inspire them to visit the museum in person."

Dario Casari, head of Samsung Electronics Austria and Switzerland, said the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna is "a space that symbolizes Austrian culture and has stood alongside the daily lives of its citizens for centuries." He added that through the partnership, Samsung aims to bring the world-class cultural heritage preserved in Vienna to audiences worldwide through its innovative display technology.
