Korea Investment & Securities announced Tuesday the launch of a new IMA product called "Korea Investment IMA S6."
Subscriptions are open from Tuesday through Aug. 25, with a total offering cap of 200 billion won ($141 million).
An IMA, or integrated management account, is a performance-based dividend product that invests customer deposits in corporate finance-related assets and distributes the resulting returns to customers. Returns are determined by investment performance at maturity, and Korea Investment & Securities bears the obligation to repay the principal.
To mark the launch, the company is running a series of promotional events for new subscribers. Branch customers will receive mobile gift vouchers worth up to 1 million won and coffee coupons based on their subscription amount. Two customers who invest 100 million won or more will also be selected by lottery to receive a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Customers of BanKIS, the company's online-only service, will receive preferential purchase limits on special-issue promissory notes — up to five times their IMA subscription amount. They will also be eligible for mobile gift vouchers worth up to 100,000 won depending on their subscription amount.
The company has also expanded its subscription channels. Customers can now sign up directly through the Toss Bank app in addition to Korea Investment & Securities' own branches and mobile app. Kakao Bank app users can be redirected to the Korea Investment & Securities app via a product introduction page.
"In line with strong customer interest in IMA products, we are continuing to expand supply while improving accessibility through diverse subscription channels and benefits," a Korea Investment & Securities official said. "We plan to keep introducing a variety of IMA products tailored to customers' investment goals and needs."
Korea Investment & Securities was designated as the first licensed IMA operator last year and launched its first related product at the end of last year. As of the end of June, its total IMA balance stood at 2.94 trillion won.
