Yongin City announced Tuesday that it has completed the "Gyeonggi Ainuri Playground" at Eondeok Children's Park in Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu, transforming the site into a dedicated play facility for children.
The Gyeonggi Ainuri Playground project aims to create open play spaces where children can run freely and develop creativity and a sense of adventure.
The city invested 250 million won ($177,000) in the project, beginning renovation work in May and completing the park this month.
Before construction began, the city conducted surveys, sought expert advice and gathered input from residents — incorporating the views of children and parents who use the park — to determine the direction of the playground's design.
To offer an experience distinct from nearby parks, the newly completed playground features a net climbing structure where children can build their sense of balance by climbing and crawling across rope nets.
The city also used the existing forest understory within the park to create a children's nature play forest, where young visitors can enjoy outdoor play while experiencing the natural environment firsthand.
