Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute marks 50th anniversary with public video contest

The Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) is holding a public video contest to mark its 50th anniversary, with submissions accepted through Sept. 20.

The contest invites anyone to submit a video celebrating KERI's 50th anniversary, with no restrictions on format. Participants may submit congratulatory messages, songs, rap performances, dances, drawings, animations or any other creative form, as long as the video runs no longer than 50 seconds. The use of AI technology in the production process is also permitted.

Judging and results will be announced in October. A total of 50 winners will be selected, including one grand prize winner who will receive 1 million won ($707), with the remaining winners receiving gift certificates and digital vouchers.

Winning entries will be re-edited by KERI and screened at the institute's main 50th anniversary event, scheduled for November.

"We organized the video contest to spread the word about KERI's 50th anniversary and celebrate it together with the public," KERI President Kim Nam-gyun said. "We hope the contest gives many people a chance to learn more about KERI."
