Hanam City announced Tuesday that all natural green belt areas within its jurisdiction have been newly designated as land transaction permit zones, in line with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's measures to prevent speculation around candidate sites for new housing supply.
The designation is intended to curb rising land prices around public housing district development areas and to preemptively block speculative land transactions.
The zones cover natural green belt areas spanning 24 legal neighborhoods across Hanam — Gambuk-dong, Gami-dong, Deokpung-dong, Pungsan-dong, Choi-dong, Hasangok-dong, Changwu-dong, Baeami-dong, Misa-dong, Cheonhyeon-dong, Sinjang-dong, Dangjeong-dong, Gamyi-dong, Gwangam-dong, Hagam-dong, Hang-dong, Sangsangok-dong, Choyi-dong, Mangwol-dong, Seon-dong, Gyosan-dong, Hasachang-dong, Sangsachang-dong and Chungung-dong — totaling 24,237 parcels across 70.14 square kilometers. The designation runs from Tuesday through Dec. 31.
Under the new rules, any land transaction exceeding the standard area threshold within the designated zones requires prior approval from the head of the relevant local government. Contracts concluded without such approval carry no legal effect under the Act on Real Estate Transaction Reporting.
Shim Woo-seop, head of the city's land information division, said the designation aims to prevent disruption in the real estate market and establish a sound transaction order centered on genuine end-users.
