The agency of singer Jennie has announced it will take legal action against those who maliciously edit, manipulate and distribute photos and videos of the artist, after footage purportedly showing a wardrobe malfunction during a performance spread online.
OA Entertainment said Tuesday that it has been continuously detecting a range of harmful activity targeting Jennie across online communities and social media — including the spread of groundless defamation and false information, as well as the malicious editing and manipulation of the artist's photos and videos in ways that violate her privacy and personal rights.
The agency said it is "taking the infringement of the artist's rights extremely seriously" and is working with legal counsel to monitor related posts and accounts and gather evidence, while pursuing both civil and criminal action in serious cases.
The agency added that it will "actively take all necessary legal measures" against anyone who maliciously edits or alters the artist's physical appearance, repeatedly posts or redistributes specific photos or video clips, or pairs such content with insulting language or false claims. "There will be no settlements or leniency of any kind," it said.
The agency also thanked fans for their tip-offs, saying the reports have been "a great help in reviewing relevant materials and protecting the artist's rights," and asked fans to continue submitting any new cases through the designated reporting channel.
The statement came after footage believed to be from Jennie's recent performance at the 2026 Summer Sonic festival in Japan circulated online. Some clips appeared to show a brief wardrobe malfunction during an energetic stage routine. It has not been confirmed, however, whether the footage is authentic or was fabricated using AI or other manipulation tools.
