Account suspended after Jennie explicit video surpasses 12.5 million views

The social media account that first uploaded a video appearing to show Blackpink member Jennie in a state of partial undress has been suspended, and her agency has vowed to pursue legal action without leniency against anyone who maliciously edits or distributes photos and videos of the artist.

As of Wednesday morning, the account belonging to user A, who posted the video, had been suspended, rendering all content the user had uploaded — including the Jennie video — inaccessible.

User A had posted the video on Saturday, and it surpassed 12.5 million views within half a day, sparking widespread controversy.

As the video spread, debate erupted online over whether it was genuine footage or had been manipulated using AI or similar technology. While the dispute over its authenticity continued, the video was reshared across various social media platforms and online communities.

Sexual harassment and defamatory comments targeting Jennie spread alongside the video, heightening concerns about secondary harm to the artist.

In response, the agency released an official statement Tuesday laying out its plan for a firm response.

OA Entertainment said it had "continuously confirmed" that online communities and social media platforms were being used to spread "groundless defamation and false information" about Jennie, as well as to post and distribute content that "maliciously edits or manipulates photos and videos of the artist, or violates her privacy and personal rights."

The agency added that it was "gravely aware of the infringement on the artist's rights" and was working with legal counsel to monitor relevant posts and accounts and gather evidence, while pursuing civil and criminal action in serious cases.

OA Entertainment said it would "actively take necessary legal measures" against anyone who maliciously edits or reprocesses the artist's physical appearance, repeatedly posts or reposts specific scenes from photos or videos, or attaches insulting expressions or false information to such content.

Meanwhile, Jennie had performed at the 2026 Summer Sonic Tokyo festival at the Mountain Stage in Tokyo on Aug. 14. After the performance, video footage from the show spread rapidly on social media. The footage contained scenes in which part of Jennie's body was exposed while she was on stage, causing a stir.
