Suwon launches mobile health bus for elderly residents

Suwon Special City, the civic organization Gonggan-gwa Naneum and the Korean Heart Rhythm Society have established a public-private partnership to operate the Suwon Saevit Senior Health Bus program.

The three organizations signed an agreement Wednesday at the city hall situation room. Gonggan-gwa Naneum will lead and manage the project, while the Korean Heart Rhythm Society will provide medical advisory services and build a clinical cooperation framework. Suwon will support the program by identifying eligible residents, linking it to existing public health initiatives and providing administrative assistance.

The Suwon Saevit Senior Health Bus is a mobile outreach service that visits senior centers and welfare facilities to deliver health services directly to elderly residents.

Based on screening results, high-risk individuals will be identified and connected to tailored services, including personalized health consultations, financial support for cataract surgery and local public health programs.

Through the public-private partnership, the program aims to build an integrated health management system covering screening, assessment, consultation and service referral.

Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon, the heads of public health centers in the city's four districts, Gonggan-gwa Naneum representative Kim Cheol and Korean Heart Rhythm Society policy director Shin Seung-yong attended the signing ceremony.
