SK Broadband sponsors Seoul International Women's Film Festival for 4th consecutive year

SK Broadband is sponsoring the Seoul International Women's Film Festival for the fourth consecutive year, lending its support to the expansion of the independent film ecosystem.

SK Broadband announced Thursday that it will operate a B tv special channel featuring films from the 28th Seoul International Women's Film Festival from Friday through Wednesday.

The Seoul International Women's Film Festival is an international film festival that surveys global trends in women's cinema and discovers emerging creators. SK Broadband has sponsored the festival every year since 2023, programming its selections into a dedicated B tv special channel.

The special channel will offer 34 domestic and international titles, including "Lady Attila," directed by Apolline Andrieu, which follows Agathe as she pursues an air guitar competition against her family's wishes; "The Language of Uiju," directed by Jang Ju-seon, which traces a girl born in a third country as she prepares for a North Korean defector English-speaking contest; and "To YOU(;너에게)," directed by Yang Do-hye, which follows Hyejin's struggle to obtain a fan signing ticket to deliver a letter to her favorite idol.

All customers who purchase a title will receive 100 percent of the purchase amount back as B Cash, redeemable on B tv. Depending on the number of titles purchased, winners selected by draw will receive books, household goods and health supplements.

On Saturday only, five films — including "To YOU(;너에게)" and "There Are Dinosaurs in Hawaii" — will be available free of charge. The special channel can be accessed through the "Seoul International Women's Film Festival" section on B tv and mobile B tv.

"For diverse stories to keep being made, there need to be audiences seeking them out," said Park Cham-sol, SK Broadband's platform director. "Through our festival sponsorship and special channel, we will continue to expand the touchpoints where films and audiences can meet."

Meanwhile, the Seoul International Women's Film Festival runs from its opening ceremony Thursday through Wednesday at venues including the Korean Film Archive's Cinematheque Kofa and Megabox Sinchon. Beyond the Seoul International Women's Film Festival, SK Broadband continues to create opportunities to showcase a wide range of works, including through a special channel for the Seoul International Eco Film Festival.
