Ko Young-wook speaks out on Yoo Ah-in's comeback: 'Drugs are OK?'

Ko Young-wook, a former member of the K-pop group Rula, has weighed in on news of actor Yoo Ah-in's return to the entertainment industry.

Ko posted on his social media account Wednesday, attaching a link to an article about Yoo alongside the caption "Drugs are OK?"

Distributor NEW announced the casting lineup Tuesday for director Jang Jae-hyun's upcoming film "Vampir," releasing footage from a script reading that included Yoo.

Yoo will play a hired contractor who tracks down a heretical cult. Lee Sung-min, Lee Jun-hyeok, Doi, Yoon Kyung-ho and Choi Hyun-wook are also set to appear. Filming begins this month, with a 2028 opening targeted.

The new role marks Yoo's first casting since drug use allegations surfaced in 2023, roughly three years ago.

Yoo was previously indicted on charges including habitual use of the medical sedative propofol and marijuana smoking, and was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years. The suspension runs through July 2027.

Yoo, who had halted all activities, recently appeared at a VIP preview of the film "Hope." His confirmed casting in "Vampir" marks a full return to acting.

Meanwhile, Ko was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting and molesting three minors over roughly two years beginning in 2010, and in 2013 received a confirmed sentence of two years and six months in prison. He was also ordered to wear an electronic monitoring anklet for three years and to have his personal information disclosed and reported for five years.

Ko was released after serving his full sentence in July 2015, and has been active on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, since his electronic monitoring period ended in 2018.
