Kim Jun-ho reveals Yoo Jae-suk bought 200 tickets to comedy festival and gave them to junior comedians

Comedian Kim Jun-ho has shared a heartwarming story about Yoo Jae-suk's generosity toward his junior colleagues.

Kim Dae-hee and Kim Jun-ho — a celebrated comedy duo who hold the top two spots for most appearances on the long-running sketch show "Gag Concert" — appeared on Wednesday's episode of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," trading stories and showing off their trademark banter.

The two comedians spoke about their enduring friendship built over decades in the comedy world, and highlighted their dedication to the industry through the Busan International Comedy Festival, known as "Bukope," which they have led for 14 years running this year.

Kim Jun-ho also revealed that when the festival first launched, he had dipped into his own pocket to keep it going due to a lack of funding.

"It wasn't just me — Kim Dae-hee, Song Eun-i and countless others stepped up with donations and free performances," Kim Jun-ho said. "The entire comedy community came together as one to keep the event going."

He went on to say, "At the third Bukope, Yoo Jae-suk bought 200 tickets and handed them out to the junior comedians."

This year's festival carries the title "Return of the Legends" and features a special tribute show honoring the late Jeon Yu-seong, titled "A Jeon Yu-seong Show Without Jeon Yu-seong," alongside a centennial celebration show for the late comedian Gu Bong-seo. Kim Jun-ho also noted that the festival's slogan — "Busan Sea, Sea of Laughter" — was coined by Jeon Yu-seong himself, expressing his admiration for the late comedian.
