Masked naked man who assaulted Yonsei University student had been lurking nearby for months

As police hunt for a masked, naked man who sexually assaulted a student at Yonsei University before fleeing, investigators have found that similar incidents occurred in the area previously.

According to police, a report was filed at around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday near a dormitory at Yonsei University's Sinchon campus stating that a naked man wearing a black mask had sexually assaulted a female student and fled. Police are tracking the suspect by analyzing closed-circuit television footage and DNA evidence collected at the scene.

Police said a similar incident was reported in the area in June. On June 12, a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a naked man wearing a black mask on a walking trail near the Yonsei University dormitory.

On July 21, a 112 emergency call was also received reporting that a naked, masked man appeared to be hiding along the Ansan hillside trail near the school.

Police are investigating whether all three incidents were committed by the same person, given the similarities in location and method.
