Actor Sunwoo Yong-yeo has spoken about the family background of her daughter Choi Yeon-je's in-laws.
A video titled "The identity of the 200 million won foreign car that 82-year-old Sunwoo Yong-yeo fell head over heels for while shopping for a new car" was posted Thursday on Sunwoo's YouTube channel.
In the video, Sunwoo visited a BMW Driving Center with the production crew and took part in a driving experience.
"This is the first time in my life I've tried something like this — I'm so, so excited and happy," she said, showing her enthusiasm for cars.
She added that her family members also love cars, saying of her son-in-law in particular that he "pays to fly from Los Angeles all the way to Germany just to do a driving experience."
When the production crew mentioned they had seen a photo of someone in her family dressed in full racing gear, Sunwoo clarified, "No, that's grandfather — grandfather is a racer."
She went on to talk about her daughter Choi Yeon-je's paternal grandfather on the husband's side. "He has a lot of Ford shares," she said. "The family has been living off those shares all this time."
Sunwoo also recalled that she had once worked as a model for a domestic automaker and drove the cars herself at the time. She said she later drove a Cadillac in the United States and, after returning to Korea, went through several BMWs. She surprised viewers by revealing she has been behind the wheel for 60 years.
Meanwhile, Choi Yeon-je was active as a singer in the 1990s and was beloved for songs including "If You Give Me Your Heart." She currently works as a traditional Korean medicine practitioner in the United States. She is married to American Kevin Gordon, with whom she has a son. Gordon serves as a vice president at a US financial firm.
