Ex-volleyball star Kim Yo-han: 'Saving money was the secret to buying a building'

Former South Korean national volleyball team player Kim Yo-han said he used savings from his playing days to become a building owner.

Kim is set to appear on the KBS 2TV variety show "Boss in the Mirror," airing Sunday.

"I became the salary king in my third year as a professional," Kim said. "I steadily saved the money I earned during my playing career. The only secret to being able to buy a building was saving."

He added that he had no intention of going into business. "I've seen so many sunbae fail at their ventures, so starting a business is the last thing on my mind," he said.

Yang Jun-hyeok drew laughs with his response: "Who exactly are you talking about right now?"

Jeon Hyun-moo also sympathized with Kim's approach to managing money. "I hate 'high risk, high return' too," he said. "For me, it's always 'low risk, low return.'"

Kim Suk then delivered a pointed remark: "Isn't Jeon Hyun-moo so cautious that he won't even get married or buy a building?"
