Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon visited a local festival on Saturday, continuing his hands-on approach to community engagement even on the weekend.
Jin attended the 2026 Summer Night Festival at Gangseo University, personally overseeing operations. Arriving early, he walked the venue to check for safety hazards caused by the day's rain and inspected amenities set up for residents.
He greeted residents throughout the festival grounds and watched performances alongside them, clapping and cheering for the singers on stage. When a guest performer sang "Apartment" by Rosé, Jin danced along to the song.
The venue filled with families pushing strollers, couples and other visitors out to enjoy a late-summer evening. Rain that had fallen since morning stopped just before the festival began, giving way to cool weather that lifted the festive atmosphere further.
Pop-opera group Atticlassic opened the event, followed by dance crew Soul and singers Jadu and Hong Kyung-min, each drawing the crowd's energy higher in turn.
"I hope the Summer Night Festival offers some comfort to those worn out by the heat," Jin said. "I hope everyone enjoys the festival to the fullest and welcomes the coming autumn in high spirits."
