LG Electronics has been named the top brand across all categories in Consumer Reports' "Best Washing Machine Brands" survey, cementing its standing as the No. 1 home appliance company in the United States.
According to industry sources Tuesday, the evaluation covered three segments: front-load, high-efficiency top-load, and agitator top-load washers. LG Electronics claimed first place in all three.
Consumer Reports called LG Electronics "by far the standout washing machine brand in every respect," adding that its products swept the top four spots in the front-load and agitator top-load categories and the top six in the high-efficiency top-load segment.
LG Electronics has built a similar reputation in kitchen appliances. In Consumer Reports' separately published "Best Appliance Brands of 2026" survey, the company ranked first as the most reliable kitchen appliance brand and first in the best cooktop and wall oven category. It also placed second in refrigerators, electric and induction ranges, and gas ranges, finishing near the top across every product line.
Forbes also named an LG Electronics product among its best dishwashers on Wednesday (local time). According to market research firm Trackline, LG Electronics' dishwasher market share in the United States rose from 15.0 percent last year to 16.3 percent in the first half of this year.
As the home appliance market grows increasingly competitive — widely described as a "red ocean" — LG Electronics has sustained its growth by leading on quality, including performance and durability.
LG Electronics' Home Appliance Solution (HS) division posted sales of 7.08 trillion won ($5.11 billion) and operating profit of 685.9 billion won in the second quarter of this year — the first time quarterly sales have exceeded 7 trillion won. The operating profit margin approached 10 percent for the second consecutive quarter.
The results stand out because major rivals struggled during the same period. Chinese brands including Midea and Haier also face a pessimistic outlook for their second-quarter earnings amid a contraction in their domestic market.
This year, LG Electronics elevated its built-in and cooking solutions unit from a department under the Kitchen Solutions division to a full business unit, sharpening its push into the kitchen appliance and built-in markets.
The Built-in and Cooking Solutions division now handles the ultra-premium built-in line SKS as well as growth products including ranges, dishwashers, induction cooktops and hoods. Leveraging organizational strength and its reputation for quality, LG Electronics is concentrating resources on the global built-in market — including the US builder channel — to establish a new engine of growth.
As a result, LG Electronics is gaining recognition for its core component technology. The credibility it has built in the business-to-consumer market has become a key asset in its push into the business-to-business segment, which the company is developing as a new revenue stream. In B2B markets, where large-scale supply contracts dominate, brand reliability — including product durability — carries even more weight than in the consumer market.
With LG Electronics earning top-quality recognition from major global evaluation bodies, analysts expect the company to expand its B2B business further and weather the current period of sluggish appliance demand.
