Angelinus, the coffee franchise operated by Lotte GRS, signed a master franchise agreement Monday with Bogajaya Group, an Indonesian retail and food-and-beverage company, to enter the Indonesian market.
The deal is part of Lotte GRS's global expansion strategy. Bogajaya Group is based in Surabaya, the economic hub of East Java, and has grown for more than 40 years.
Angelinus plans to leverage Bogajaya Group's expertise in securing airport locations and its store operations know-how. Starting with Juanda International Airport, which draws heavy foot traffic from travelers and business customers, the franchise will expand to major shopping malls and landmarks. The goal is to open the first store this year and operate 10 locations within five years.
"We will continue to bring the unique joy of Angelinus to customers in Indonesia," Lotte GRS CEO Lee Won-taek said at the signing ceremony.
