SK AX partners with SAP to target enterprise AI transformation market

SK AX is teaming up with global enterprise software giant SAP to accelerate its push into the corporate AI transformation, or AX, market.

SK AX announced Wednesday that it signed an MOU for business AI cooperation at SAP's headquarters in Waldorf, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The signing ceremony was attended by SK AX President Kim Wan-jong, SK AX Chief Customer Officer Son Geon-il and SAP Korea CEO Shin Eun-young, among other executives.

Kim also met separately with SAP CEO Christian Klein to discuss specific areas of cooperation.

"SK AX is leading fundamental redesigns of business processes and AX innovation," Kim said. "Building on this strategic partnership with SAP, we will create success stories for AI-native enterprises and expand them into both domestic and global markets."

Klein said he looks forward to working with SK AX to realize the vision of an autonomous enterprise for shared customers, leveraging SAP's top-tier experts and AI agent development methodology.

At the core of the partnership is a combination of SAP's technology with SK AX's accumulated expertise in industry-specific AX design and operations.

SK AX plans to collaborate with SAP across a range of industries — including finance, manufacturing and energy — using three platforms: SAP Autonomous Suite, which provides an autonomous operating environment for AI agents; SAP Business AI, SAP's enterprise AI product suite; and AXgenticWire ERP Suite.

AXgenticWire ERP Suite is an integrated service designed to help companies transform the way they work through AI, supporting everything from enterprise resource planning strategy development to implementation, migration and operational innovation.

Within the suite, "my Finance" automates financial operations and supports anomaly detection. EAR Ops assists with ERP operations management, while EAR Studio supports the design, development and testing of ERP systems using AI — both helping enterprise customers advance their AX journey.

AXgenticWire ERP Suite will be listed on SAP's open platform marketplace, AI Agent Hub, making it available to enterprise customers worldwide.

SK AX will also participate in SAP's Early Adopter Care, or EAC, program, which allows companies to apply pre-release SAP products in real work environments and refine them through close feedback with SAP before official launch.

"The two companies will build a joint cooperation framework spanning technology validation, AI agent development, customer deployment and commercialization, with the goal of creating world-class AI-native enterprise success stories," an SK AX official said. "We plan to introduce the results of our collaboration to customers around the world at various global events and business venues."

Meanwhile, SK AX posted sales of 748 billion won ($542 million) and operating profit of 62 billion won in the second quarter, up 14.3 percent and 24.2 percent, respectively, year-on-year. Revenue from AI projects surged 110 percent compared to the same period last year.
