Polestar 3 wins foreign EV of the year at EV Awards 2026

Swedish premium electric vehicle brand Polestar announced Wednesday that its flagship electric performance SUV, the Polestar 3, won the Judges' Choice Electric Vehicle of the Year award in the foreign category at EV Awards 2026, held Tuesday at COEX in Seoul.

Now in its fifth year, EV Awards 2026 is South Korea's leading EV awards program, hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy and co-organized by the Korea Battery Industry Association, COEX and the Korea Automobile Environment Association.

This year's awards covered electric vehicles launched or scheduled for launch in South Korea between August 2025 and July 2026. The Judges' Choice category is determined entirely by expert evaluation, with vehicles assessed comprehensively on price competitiveness, charging performance, driving range, safety and overall product quality.

The Polestar 3 earned high marks for its overall product competitiveness, with judges citing its powerful performance, premium design and best-in-class safety.

Officially launched in South Korea in July, the Polestar 3 is Polestar's flagship electric performance SUV, combining Scandinavian minimalist design with a modern sensibility, advanced electrification technology, strong performance, a high level of safety and premium convenience features.

The Polestar 3 is equipped with a 92 kWh NCM battery in the rear-motor variant and a 106 kWh NCM battery in the dual-motor and performance variants, offering a maximum certified driving range of 486 kilometers on a single charge (dual-motor). Built on an 800V architecture, it supports rapid charging at up to 350 kW, enabling a charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes.

In addition, the vehicle offers up to 680 horsepower (500 kW) and a 0-to-100 kph time of 3.9 seconds in the performance trim, a comfortable yet dynamic ride through ZF CDC dual-chamber air suspension that responds 500 times per second to road conditions, and proven safety credentials — having been named the safest car in the Executive Car category at Euro NCAP 2025.

"Following the Polestar 4's selection as the Judges' Choice Innovative Electric Vehicle last year, this award for the Polestar 3 reaffirms Polestar's innovation and strength," Ham said. "We will consistently communicate the differentiated value we offer as a pure electric vehicle brand and continue to build on that foundation."

Meanwhile, Polestar has been expanding its customer-focused marketing efforts, recently launching an extended warranty program that provides coverage for key components even after the standard new-vehicle warranty expires, helping owners maintain the value and reliability of their vehicles over a longer period.
