Mercedes-Benz Korea held the domestic final of its global amateur golf tournament — the Mercedes Trophy 2026 National Final — at Club Nine Bridges in Jeju on Monday and Tuesday, selecting three South Korean representatives to advance to the World Final, the company announced Wednesday.
The event brought together Mercedes-Benz customers who had qualified through 11 regional rounds held over four months. Participants competed in three groups divided by handicap, and the three group winners will represent South Korea at the Mercedes Trophy World Final, to be held at Der Öschberghof in Germany from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.
"The Mercedes Trophy is a storied global amateur golf tournament that has brought together customers from around the world to share their passion for golf for more than 30 years," Mercedes-Benz Korea CEO Shirin Emira said. "I extend my congratulations to the three players selected to represent South Korea, and we will continue to expand opportunities for our domestic customers to connect with Mercedes-Benz customers worldwide through golf and experience the brand's unique values."
The Mercedes Trophy is held annually in more than 60 countries, drawing approximately 60,000 Mercedes-Benz customers. It is a global customer program through which Benz owners around the world connect and engage with the brand through golf.
At the national final, alongside the golf rounds, CEO Emira delivered a welcome address to customers, and the newly launched Mercedes-Benz S-Class — released in South Korea this month — was showcased to attendees. The event also featured a vehicle exhibition displaying the Mercedes-AMG G-Class, Mercedes-AMG SL, Mercedes-AMG CLE Cabriolet and Mercedes-AMG GT, as well as a performance by singer Lee Jae-hoon.
During the rounds, KLPGA professionals and Mercedes-Benz Korea brand ambassadors Park Hyun-kyung and Kim Min-byeol took part in a "Beat the Pro" event, challenging participants to match their tee-shot accuracy. Organizers also held a "Drive to the Major" event offering a VIP experience at The Open Championship — the world's oldest major golf tournament. A hole-in-one contest was also held, featuring prizes totaling more than 100 million won ($72,300), including a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 4MATIC AMG Line.
Mercedes-Benz Korea is serving as title sponsor of the Korea Women's Open Golf Championship from this year through 2028, and co-hosted the Mercedes-Benz 40th Korea Women's Open Golf Championship with the Korea Golf Association in June. The company has also named KLPGA Tour players Park Hyun-kyung and Kim Min-byeol as brand ambassadors and continues to stage the Mercedes Trophy for customers, deepening its ties with South Korea's golf culture through a combination of professional tournament sponsorships, player support and customer-facing amateur competitions.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Korea has been broadening its customer touchpoints through various marketing initiatives, including the exclusive sale of a "1886 German Cheesecake" — developed in collaboration with Chef Son Jong-won, a participant in the brand partnership program "Benz Mate" — at Benz Studio Seoul.
