Renault Korea's Filante selected as official vehicle for French ambassador to South Korea

Renault Korea announced Wednesday that its global flagship crossover, the Filante Hybrid E-Tech, has been selected as the new official vehicle of the French ambassador to South Korea.

Renault Korea President Nicolas Paris personally handed the Filante's smart key to French Ambassador Philippe Bertoux at a ceremony held Tuesday at the French Embassy in Seoul.

The Filante, launched in South Korea in March, is Renault's new global flagship E-segment crossover combining the design strengths of a sedan and an SUV with a spacious premium tech lounge-concept interior and advanced convenience and connectivity features.

Its quiet ride technology, safety specifications standard across all trims, and Hybrid E-Tech powertrain are considered key factors meeting the dignity and stability required for diplomatic schedules.

"The Filante is the perfect ambassador for French technological excellence and elegance," Bertoux said. "Produced by Renault Korea in Busan, the Filante embodies the success and potential of cooperation between France and South Korea, and its launch in this meaningful year marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries makes it all the more significant."

Bertoux took up his post in South Korea in July 2023 and has held several senior diplomatic positions both within France and abroad.

Meanwhile, Renault Korea has been rapidly expanding its export base, recently loading the first full export shipment of the Filante at Pier 4 of Masan Port.
