On-site interviews and job placement support for residents aged 50 to 65 ... Applications open Wednesday through Sept. 13, with 30 participants to be selected
Dongjak-gu is partnering with McDonald's Korea to run an on-site interview and job placement program for residents between the ages of 50 and 65.
The initiative was designed to improve senior job seekers' access to private-sector employment and expand practical hiring opportunities for those looking to return to work.
A total of 30 participants will be selected, with applications open from Wednesday through Sept. 13. Eligible Dongjak-gu residents aged 50 to 65 may apply through the district office's integrated reservation system online, or in person or by phone at the Dongjak Employment Support Center at 140 Noryangjin-ro.
On-site interviews will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Dongjak Employment Support Center, where selected participants will meet with McDonald's Korea hiring managers.
Six positions are available in total. Final hiring decisions will follow McDonald's own interview and recruitment procedures, and results will be communicated to each participant individually.
Successful candidates are expected to be assigned to one of three locations: three to the Dongjak Isu branch, one to the Dongjak Soongsil University branch, and two to the Seocho Yangjae SKDT branch.
The district also plans to follow up with participants after the interviews to track hiring outcomes and working conditions. Those who are not hired will receive continued job-search support, including referrals to similar openings and relevant recruitment information based on their preferred working conditions.
The district will hold a special lecture titled "Digital Skills for a More Enjoyable Life in the AI Era" at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 at the Dongjak Employment Support Center, covering smartphone and AI literacy to help strengthen senior job seekers' employability.
"I hope this on-site interview event with McDonald's Korea serves as a solid stepping stone for our senior residents to make a vibrant fresh start," Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young said. "We will continue to work closely with private companies to develop job programs that deliver real results."
