Hyundai Green Food opens dining-focused Eataly branch in Gangnam

Hyundai Green Food, a comprehensive food company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, announced Thursday it will open a dining-focused branch of Italian grocerant Eataly to tap into premium dining demand in Seoul's Gangnam district.

The store occupies the 10th floor of Hyundai Department Store Trade Center in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Spanning 690 square meters, it seats 154 guests across a restaurant with 102 seats and a cafe with 52 seats. It opens Friday.

Hyundai Green Food introduced a Josper charcoal oven — a top-of-the-line Spanish cooking appliance — for the first time at the location. The company added 10 charcoal-focused signature dishes, including aged T-bone and tenderloin steaks and smoked pasta, along with a new authentic Italian course menu.

An island-style open kitchen sits at the center of the space. The wood-fired pizza selection has been expanded from eight to 20 varieties. Five private dining rooms have been added to accommodate business and group gatherings. A cafe area with new menu items has also been introduced. The grocery section will operate as a gift-focused zone stocking more than 250 curated products, including Italian ingredients and wines.

Lee Jong-pil, head of Hyundai Green Food's food service division, said the store is "a neighborhood-tailored location that brings together all the operational know-how we have built up," adding that the company plans to continue expanding locally specialized stores that lead dining trends.

To mark the opening, Hyundai Green Food will run a lucky draw event through Sept. 30, along with a promotion offering eco bags and glass wine coupons to customers who spend above a set amount.
