Woori Bank kicks off second-half new hire recruitment

Woori Bank announced Thursday it is launching its new hire recruitment drive for the second half of 2026.

The bank will hire across seven tracks: corporate banking, personal banking, Woori Together, tech, global, specialist and a special veterans hiring track.

Woori Bank plans to focus primarily on selecting financial professionals in corporate and personal banking, while expanding recruitment of specialist personnel and information security talent to keep pace with a changing financial environment.

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 8 on the bank's recruitment website. The selection process will proceed in the following order: document screening, an AI aptitude assessment, and first, second and final interviews. The second-round interview will again be held as an overnight group interview, as it was in the first half of the year.

Candidates selected for the corporate and personal banking tracks will receive fast-track access to the bank's next-generation pre-training program for relationship managers, customer managers and private bankers.

Woori Bank is also continuing its efforts to broaden inclusive hiring practices. It has expanded eligibility for the Woori Together track, which targets socially disadvantaged applicants. On top of the existing categories — multicultural families, basic livelihood recipients and near-poverty households — the bank has extended eligibility to children of firefighters, military personnel and police officers killed or injured in the line of duty.

In the tech track, the bank will recruit candidates with existing IT development skills as well as specialists in information security and financial security, strengthening customer data protection and IT security capabilities.

The newly established global and specialist tracks are another feature of this recruitment cycle. The global track will seek candidates with overseas experience and foreign language proficiency, while the specialist track will hire those holding professional licenses — including lawyers, certified public accountants and tax accountants — as well as professional interpreters.

In the first half of this year, Woori Bank selected about 100 new hires and summer interns combined.
