BTS is rewriting the playbook for the global touring industry. Having already established a stadium-tour footprint across North America, South America and Japan, the group has now shaken up the heart of Europe.
According to the latest Boxscore data released by Billboard on Friday, BTS generated $102.5 million from just eight performances in July, landing at No. 2 on the Top Tours chart.
The figure trails only The Weeknd, who took in $124.4 million across 16 shows. BTS achieved a comparable result with half the number of performances, underscoring a commanding edge in revenue efficiency.
Billboard noted that BTS has now consistently crossed the $100 million monthly revenue threshold, becoming only the third act in history to do so, after Beyoncé and Bad Bunny.
The current tour is also eclipsing the group's own past milestones. The "Love Yourself" tour of 2019, which swept through North America, Brazil and Japan and demonstrated the wide scale of the BTS fandom, closed with total earnings of $213.9 million. The Arirang Tour has already more than doubled that figure, reaching $433.2 million through just 38 shows as of Aug. 11.
Sold-out performances at Stade de France in Paris, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Allianz Arena in Munich and King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels each ranked among the top individual shows on the Boxscore chart, placing third and fifth through seventh, respectively. The Paris dates alone drew 185,000 fans and generated $30.6 million in ticket revenue.
Big Hit Music said the ongoing tour is scheduled to continue through the first half of next year and expressed confidence it will surpass all previous records by a wide margin — in total revenue and across every other measure.
