Actor Lee Yong-ju of 'Pureun Geotap,' 'Makdwaemeogеun Yeong-ae Ssi' dies at 44

Lee Yong-ju, an actor known for his roles in the tvN sitcoms "Pureun Geotap" and "Makdwaemeogеun Yeong-ae Ssi," died at 44.

Lee died Saturday of a heart attack, according to industry sources.

A close friend announced the news on social media. "My friend Lee Yong-ju has passed away suddenly," the friend wrote. "The news is so sudden that I still cannot believe it. I ask that many people remember Yong-ju on his final journey."

A memorial altar has been set up at Room 5 of the Bundang Jesaeng Hospital funeral home. The funeral procession is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. Monday, with burial at the Seongnam City Funeral Culture Center.

A former model, Lee began his acting career in 2004 with a minor role in the film "Doma Ahn Jung-geun." He went on to appear in MBC's "Annyeong, Francesca," tvN's "Makdwaemeogеun Yeong-ae Ssi" and SBS's "Du Yeoja-ui Bang," among other productions. He was particularly beloved by viewers for his portrayal of a bumbling new recruit in the sitcom "Pureun Geotap."
