Nike spent 3 years developing trail running shoe ACG Picklejuice

Nike ACG announced Monday the launch of the ACG Picklejuice, a long-distance, high-altitude trail running shoe.

The Picklejuice delivers uphill efficiency and downhill protection while securing strong grip and stability on the trail. It combines Nike's first co-molded dual-density supercritical foam platform, ACG's proprietary outsole system GOATEK, and a Flyknit upper tuned for trail conditions.

Nike spent three years gathering direct feedback from athletes at the world's largest trail running competitions and incorporating their input into the shoe's development. The process involved biomechanics research from the Nike Sports Research Lab, 10 rounds of research and testing, and the creation of 20 prototypes.

GOATEK, the proprietary outsole platform at the core of the Picklejuice system, was developed by ACG and underwent five long-term wear tests and more than 18,000 miles of real-world testing. It improves wet-surface traction by 45 percent and increases abrasion resistance by 25 percent.
