Seocho-gu's signature alley-district festival runs Saturday and Sunday along the Chemi Street Gangnam Station commercial zone, featuring performances, hands-on experiences and food under the 'SHOWKASE' concept that brings K-food and K-style together in one experience.
A signature alley-district festival offering K-food, K-style, performances and hands-on experiences all in one place is coming to the heart of Gangnam Station.
Seocho-gu will hold the "2026 Chemi Street Gangnam Station Festival" this Saturday and Sunday along Seocho-daero 75- and 77-gil and Gangnam-daero 61- and 65-gil in the Chemi Street Gangnam Station commercial zone.
Co-hosted by Seocho-gu and the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by Seocho Women's Jobs Co., the festival will fill the streets of the Gangnam Station commercial district with a range of cultural and experiential programming.
Now in its third year, the festival is built around the "SHOWKASE" concept — presenting K-food and K-style as a single, unified experience. Performances, hands-on activities, brand pop-ups and food offerings will be spread throughout the commercial zone, encouraging visitors to stroll, explore and linger.
On the first day, Saturday, a "MIDNIGHT SHOWKASE" kicks off at 7 p.m. to open the festival night. A relay EDM set featuring DJ SUVIN, ELLIA, GIO and KEY:NA will anchor the evening, alongside a lounge area and audience participation events designed to heat up the Saturday night atmosphere.
Sunday's programming shifts to everyday lifestyle content under the banner "LIFE SHOWKASE." Offerings include yoga classes, a morning run, a coffee rave, world culture experiences, family-friendly programs, a healing picnic and a traveling bookshelf, among other lifestyle-themed activities.
Global IP company Nobik Deal House and character-content brand Oneul-ui Gwiyeoum will also participate in pop-up form, giving visitors a chance to discover new brands and characters.
A "CHEMI SHOWKASE" segment will feature pop-ups from brands operating in the Chemi Street Gangnam Station zone. Kyobo Book Centre, Karrot, Decathlon, Log Gym & PT, Spao, All That Beauty Academy, Wellness House Seoul and Juno Hair are among the participants, each offering experiences and events that highlight their individual brand identity.
Additional programming includes a "K-DRESS SHOW" combining hanbok styling with K-beauty looks, a food-week live cooking show featuring Chef Jo Seo-hyeong alongside local vendors, and cheerleading and K-pop showcase performances. A Chemi Street concert headlined by Fifty Fifty, Socodomo, Kiras and DJ Raiden will carry the festival energy through to the close.
The "TASTE SHOWKASE" will see more than 30 vendors in the commercial zone set up outdoor dining areas in camping and retro-style formats, serving a wide variety of food. Sponsor pop-ups, busking, a public noraebang booth and EDM performances will run alongside, letting visitors eat, watch and relax all in one spot.
Partner organizations — including brands from the commercial zone, cultural centers of various countries in Korea, Musinsa, Pulmuone and Hite Jinro — will support experiential content, event operations and visitor perks. The district plans to link each SHOWKASE segment and participating stores along a single walking route to extend visitor dwell time and translate festival participation into actual spending in the commercial zone.
Traffic controls will be in place throughout the festival to ensure visitor safety and minimize disruption. From midnight Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday, the Seocho Model Drivers Association will assist with traffic guidance along Seocho-daero 75-gil and 77-gil and Gangnam-daero 61-gil and 65-gil. Village bus route Seocho 09 will be temporarily rerouted to reduce inconvenience to commuters.
Seocho Police Station, nearby police boxes and Seocho Fire Station will conduct joint safety management operations to guard against hazards near the venue and crowd-related incidents.
Detailed program schedules and participation information will be released on a rolling basis through the Chemi Street Gangnam Station official Instagram account and KakaoTalk channel (ChemiStreetGangnamStation).
The Chemi Street Gangnam Station commercial zone was designated a Seoul local-brand district in 2024 and has been building its brand identity since. Now in its third year of development, the zone is pushing to establish itself as one of Seoul's leading glocal commercial districts. The festival is a community-participation event organized as part of that broader commercial revitalization effort.
Seocho-gu District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said the festival was designed so visitors could enjoy culture and hands-on activities during the day and performances and food at night. "We will continue to develop content that is unique to Chemi Street Gangnam Station and nurture it into a local-brand district that stays vibrant from morning to night," he said.
