Dalseong-gun reorganizes administration, creates dedicated business support division

Dalseong-gun in Daegu has reorganized its administrative structure to accelerate the implementation of ninth-term elected government campaign pledges and respond to shifting public service demands.

According to the county Monday, the reorganization focuses on areas closely tied to residents' daily lives and regional development — including business support, integrated care, parks and green spaces, agriculture, and public health — with the aim of deepening expertise and improving on-the-ground responsiveness in each field.

A newly established Business and Employment Division will take over the business and jobs functions previously handled by the Economy and Industry Division, operating through four dedicated teams covering business policy, business support, employment and industrial infrastructure.

The Economy and Industry Division has been renamed the People's Economy Division and will concentrate on livelihood-related sectors such as traditional markets and small businesses.

The integrated care functions of the Welfare Policy Division have also been strengthened, and a Health Care Team has been created within the public health center's health promotion department. Dedicated integrated care teams have been newly established in all nine towns and townships.

The Urban Parks Division has been split into a Landscaping Projects Division and a Landscaping Management Division to sharpen project execution and operational effectiveness.

The Sanitation Division has been transferred from the Resident Welfare Bureau to the public health center to strengthen coordination between public health and sanitation services.

However, to avoid inconvenience for residents filing complaints related to food service establishments and public hygiene businesses, the sanitation complaints team will remain at the county office.

The Agricultural Policy Division has been moved from the Economy and Environment Bureau to the Agricultural Technology Center to improve the link between policy and field operations and lay the groundwork for a one-stop agricultural service centered on farmers.

"We will strengthen support that businesses can actually feel through the dedicated business division, and provide professional and prompt administrative services in areas closely tied to residents' lives, including parks and green spaces, welfare, public health and agriculture," Dalseong County Chief Choi Jae-hun said.
