Police seek arrest warrant for lawmaker Kim Byung-kee on bribery charges

Police have applied for an arrest warrant for independent lawmaker Kim Byung-kee, a former floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who has been under investigation over a range of misconduct allegations.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Metropolitan Investigation Unit's public crime investigation team sought the warrant Monday on charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes related to bribery and obstruction of business. The move comes roughly one year after investigators launched the probe.
