Nancy Lang's agency denies she was heavily drunk while driving

After reports emerged that broadcaster Nancy Lang had been booked on drunk driving charges, her agency rebuffed claims that she was "heavily intoxicated" to a level that would warrant a license revocation, saying the reports did not reflect the facts.

Lang's agency, Megaton Entertainment, told Dailian on Tuesday that it was indeed a careless decision on her part to get behind the wheel, since her home was nearby, after she had a glass or two of champagne at an acquaintance's birthday gathering. However, the agency added that terms such as "heavily intoxicated," "apprehended" and "taken to the police station" did not match what actually happened.

Regarding the circumstances at the time, the agency said Lang drank alcohol before driving and underwent a breath test after she had almost arrived home.

Earlier Tuesday, MBN reported that the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul had booked Lang on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.

According to the report, the Gangnam Police Station booked Lang on drunk driving charges under the Road Traffic Act. She is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol around Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 3:45 a.m. that day.

Reports also claimed that her blood alcohol level at the time met the threshold for license revocation, but her agency has denied this.

Police are expected to clarify the precise details, including Lang's exact blood alcohol level and the circumstances of her arrest, through further investigation.

Meanwhile, Lang has recently been balancing art projects with broadcasting work. She has held a solo exhibition titled "PLAY" at Art Space Y in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, since June, and in July she appeared on the web variety show "Dakter Shin," where she revealed her more than 20-year friendship with singer Lee Hyori.
